Action logging
The ability to log user actions is provided, both for system security reasons and for personnel
training. The logged actions are divided into two categories:
- System actions. This category comprises actions regarding the monitoring of the regular
use of the system including: entry to / exit from the system, addition/update/deletion of users,
addition/update/deletion of vehicles, addition/update/deletion of personnel.
- Forest firefighting actions. These include all the actions concerning the process of fighting a fire.
In particular, actions of all users are fully logged, for security and personnel
training reasons. The categories that are initially defined as significant for logging include:
assignment of vehicles to a fire, assignment of personnel to vehicles, assignment of a fire coordinator,
progress of the front(s) of the fire and its state (in progress, extinguished), movement of vehicles
during firefighting, messages exchanged during firefighting.
Logging of the above actions is made automatically by the system. For all actions where
it is meaningful, the person performing the action is recorded as well. For example, for each modification
of the data or the authorization level of a user of the system, the person making the change is recorded.
The action logs can be opened using external presentation and management tools,
through which the user can process the recorded actions. These files are stored exclusively on the
system server and, therefore, access to them is regulated, allowed only to users of authorization level A,
who are also the managers of the servers.
